I have two questions for Ms. G.
Quesion 1:
Why is the gay community so insistant on redefining marriage to include two persons of the same gender?
(I this this issue seperate from the issue of legal rights for gay and lesbian unions)
I see the two as seperate types of unions. Take the issue of Children:
For any gay couple to procreate, the assistance of a third party is required.
For a gay male couple, a surrogate mother is required. At most, the offspring can be related to only one of the men. (Provided that the men are not themselves related)
For a lesbian couple, a sperm donor is required. At most, the offspring can be related to only one of the women. (again, provided that the women are not related)
So children of gay couples are automatically the step-child of one of the parents as opposed to a similar situation being an exception in a normal herosexual relationship.
Question 2:
Doesn’t expanding the definition of marriage create a slippery slope where other groups will want their relationships to be included too, such as polygamy, or even a relationship where one person is a member of a regular AND a gay marriage having a partner of each gender?

I am not quite sure I understand the second part of Question number 2. The polygamy part doesn’t confuse me, but the last part is a bit unclear.

Let me clarify the second half of my question by way of an example.
Take a typical married couple (if there is such a thing.)
Why can’t the wife enter into a union with another woman? She would have two seperate unions.
As gay and lesbian couples are looking for acceptance of marriage with a member of the same sex, Could a bisexual then claim that they should be able to enter into a relationship with a member of each sex. For arguments sake, lets say that her two partners are in a relationship only with her.
I hope that clears up the meaning of my original question.

Oh, what a pity that I missed this show.
If you ask me, gay tolerance doesn’t exist at all outside Kehä III (in other words, outside the Helsinki area). You’d be pretty disappointed of Finland, which you think to be a pretty open-minded country, when you meet tons of people in the Finnish countryside saying that “they don’t approve gays and they are disgusted by them” or “it’s not right because the bible prohibits it”. Yes, I have heard these in Finland. Shocking, right?
