This Sunday on Radio Free Finland, Matti Hautsalo of KEPA to discuss global trade, the World Trade Organization, the recent Paul Wolfowitz visit, and much more…

Matti Hautsalo is working as an advocacy officer at Kepa, The Service Centre for Development Cooperation (www.kepa.fi). Matti lobbies Finnish politicians and government officials about trade issues on behalf of the least developed countries. Through Kepa he represents its over 250 members, which are all Finnish NGOs (non-governmental organisations) dealing with development issues. He will be a member of the Finnish delegation in the WTO 6th ministerial meeting taking place in Hong Kong, December 13-18.

Matti’sacademic background is in economics and development studies.
Prior to joining Kepa he worked 8 years in investment banking and management consulting.

Tomorrow night at 10pm - Mikko Jokipii AKA “Maaco” was just on the Conan O’Brien show this past week where Conan did a skit about Tarja Halonen. He’ll be chatting with us live from New York about his experience on the show.

Also we’ll talk with Sofi Bergheim, she’s a Swedish-Finn and we’ll be discussing the Swedish-Finnish community.

This week we tried something a bit different and I think it was an enormous success. Singer/songwriter and Finnish Eurovision finalist Steven Stewart and I discussed his music, Eurovision, the Finnish music industry, filesharing, and more. In between our discussions we played some clips from his songs, and even a few exclusive and unreleased tracks. Very cool.

Many thanks to Steven for a great interview, and thanks to everyone who wrote in. There were quite a few of you who sent in questions towards the end of the show which we didn’t get to, I’ll send Steven the questions and post his answers on this site early this week.

This week on Radio Free Finland - Singer/songwriter Steven Stewart will be on the show. He’s an American whose been living in Finland for quite some time now - He wrote the song, “Why”, which was Finland’s recent eurovision song contest winner. Steven has a new album out titled, “Balance” – He’ll be on the show to talk about eurovision and his music.
